Fri Apr 29 - Rotary Club of Templestowe Gala Dinner Fundraiser For ABCD: Art Building Children's Dreams (Australia) Inc - Bulleen VIC

ABCD: Art Building Children's Dreams (Australia) Inc. - A Project of the Rotary Club of Templestowe

Rotary Club of Templestowe Gala Dinner

The Rotary Club of Templestowe is holding a Gala Dinner on Friday 29 April at the Veneto Club, Bulleen Road, to raise funds for the St Bede’s College in Savusavu, Fiji.

The small town of Savusavu, on the island of Vanua Levu, was in the path of tropical cyclone Winston. Whilst the College survived the cyclone reasonably well, the same cannot be said for the small villages surrounding the school and many of the students had their homes and all their school supplies destroyed.

The Rotary Club of Templestowe, in partnership with ABCD: Art Building Children's Dreams (Australia) Inc., has sponsored more than 40 children to attend the school over the past two years and is now embarking on a program of refurbishment at St Bede’s in conjunction with the local Rotary Club of Savusavu and involving the college and village communities.

The first essential step is to repair and resurface the crumbling floors in the 15 classrooms and to lay new tiles throughout. This project will cost $18,000.00 – and the aim is to cover the full cost of the project through funds raised at the Gala Dinner.

The Gala Dinner will feature opportunities for sponsorship, live and silent auction and some outstanding entertainment.  Guest of honour will be Mr Reg Hodgson, Victorian Consul General for Fiji.

Tickets for the Gala Dinner at $65 per person or $600 for a table of ten are available on-line at  www.trybooking.com/178031
