I organize a social networking group specifically for people in Sydney who enjoy volunteering and/or attending charity events. http://www.meetup.com/Sociable-Charitable-People

Generally speaking are three different types of charity events that we cater for:

1) Volunteer – 

Where the charity benefits by our members volunteering their time and efforts in the operation of the event through assisting with registration, course marshalling, setup, table service, etc.

Example: cocktail parties, gala events, athletic events, fun runs, appeals, etc.

2) Participation – 

Where the charity benefits by our members participating in their event through the purchase of registration, payment of entry fees, and/or doing something for pledges of support to accomplish a goal. 

Example: athletic events, golf days, fun runs, etc.

3) Attendance – 

Where the charity benefits by our members attending their event through the purchase of tickets and/or making donations on the night

Example: cocktail parties, dinners, balls, gala events, movie nights, concerts, etc.

Any charity or non-profit organization that would like to advertise an event that falls into one of the above three event categories is welcome to. This is a wholly free service, we do this for the love of volunteering, participation and attendance of charitable events, and to be sociable.
