Dads for Chad - Has Ended
DO Details
Each year, people from all around the world complete 1000 steps ups to support veterans. This year, Dad Hours is hosting an event to help raise money for Swiss 8, a charity who supports veterans and their mental health. We invite you to come along and join in to complete this challenge!
Event details:
This event is open to everyone, all ages and fitness levels. You can complete 1000 steps ups individually or in teams of 2, 3 or 4.
People in teams can divide the steps however they like.
These are the suggested options though adjustments can be made on the day depending on your level of fitness.
3 OPTIONS:
1.Beginner // No rucksack. You pick the height of the step-ups. Plates will be available to lower the height of the step. This option may also work well for children/teens that might like to join in with family.
2. Standard/Intermediate // 30#/20# rucksack. You pick the height of the step-ups. Plates and boxes will be available.
3. Expert // 45# rucksack. Use 20" box for step-ups.
History of the event:
The hero workout “CHAD” is in honor of Navy SEAL Chad Wilkinson who took his life on October 29, 2018 due to the effects of numerous deployments, several TBIs, blast wave injuries and PTSD. Our goal is to honor Chad’s life and legacy and to raise awareness for suicide prevention.
This year, join us again in paying respect to Chad Wilkinson and all those who have been lost to suicide, while also committing to try to change the number. #CHAD1000X
