DO Supports

Common Ground Queensland We believe that everyone has the right to live in dignity and have a safe place to call home! Our mission is to END HOMELESSNESS, a person at a time, within the communities in which we operate. CGQ is the first supportive housing project in Queensland. Supportive housing offers long term, safe, affordable housing that is intentionally linked to dedicated, tailored support services. This approach is a solution that can end the cycle of homelessness for the most vulnerable individuals and families in our community. It offers a permanent alternative to rough sleeping, couch surfing and crisis accommodation. For over a decade, CGQ has maintained a successful record of providing homes for more than 400 people, including over 50 children, through its three main programs: Brisbane Common Ground, Supportive Housing for Families, and Community Supportive Housing. The combination of safe, permanent and affordable housing and ongoing support services is the first step to stability. It allows people to deal more effectively with the challenges that had previously hindered their ability to sustain a tenancy. Tenants are empowered to maximise their opportunities for an independent and healthy life.
