What is the Mad Mums of Mandurah Tea Party?

The committee of Mums of Mandurah Incorporated wanted to organise an annual fundraising event that would create a buzz within the Mandurah community; an event that would bring together all the words of our logo – CONNECT, SUPPORT, INFORM, INSPIRE and EMPOWER. And so the Mad Mums of Mandurah Tea Party was born. The idea of the Mad Mums of Mandurah Tea Party is to provide women within the Mandurah community with an opportunity to come together and socialise while raising money for charity. It is also an opportunity for local businesses to show their support, as well as to promote their product or service within the community. Each year, we hope not only to raise money for a charity that is close to the hearts and lives of all women, but to also create valuable awareness about the particular charity and its cause. Mad Mums of Mandurah Tea Party 2014

The fourth annual Mad Mums of Mandurah Tea Party will take place on Sunday, 24 August 2014 from 2-5pm at the beautiful Mandurah Quay Resort, Waterside Restaurant in Erskine. Funds raised will be in support of White Ribbon Australia. The ambience of the Peel Inlet will create the perfect backdrop for an expected 200 guests to enjoy an sit-down high-tea affair.

This year’s theme is ‘Winter Wonderland’ and we will encourage guests to dress creatively with the colour white for a chance to win a $500 gift voucher from local boutique ‘Love to Be’. The aim of the fourth annual Mad Mums of Mandurah Tea Party 2014 is to: • create awareness about White Ribbon Australia and raise proceeds for the charity; • create awareness about Mums of Mandurah Incorporated and raise proceeds for our organisation; • provide guests with a good‐value, enjoyable afternoon with a touch of style; and • promote and support local businesses who participate in the event.

DO Supports

About White Ribbon White Ribbon is the world's largest male-led movement to end men's violence against women. White Ribbon Australia is a non-profit organisation and Australia's only national, male-led primary prevention campaign to end men’s violence against women. Through primary prevention initiatives and an annual campaign, White Ribbon Australia seeks to change the attitudes and behaviours that lead to and perpetuate men’s violence against women, by engaging boys and men to lead social change. In particular, Australia's unique Ambassadors' Program supports thousands of men to be the faces and leaders of the campaign, by living the White Ribbon Oath: never to commit, excuse or remain silent about violence against women. Women support White Ribbon Australia through their roles as White Ribbon Champions, encouraging the men in their lives to make a commitment to promote positive attitudes and behaviours towards women, as well as to intervene safely to prevent violence against women when needed.
