Enjoy a day of wellness in the outdoors, connecting with nature and helping Koalas. Spend time outdoors connecting with mother nature Socialise with like-minded people Experience koalas in their natural habitat Help create a new environment for koalas  Help to maintain Australia's natural forests Help us save wild koalas in the You Yangs and the Western Plains  From June to August, we plant koala trees.  We allow 1.5 to 2 hours for this activity, which occurs on private properties throughout the region.  If the property is far from the You Yangs, there might not be a koala walk on that day, but there will be a nature walk.  From September to May, we maintain koala habitat in the You Yangs by removing Boneseed weeds. We allow 1.5 hours for this activity.  Boneseed removal is chemical-free, doesn't need any special equipment and is easy! Part of the day will be spent watching wild koalas in their natural habitat. You will be accompanied by two wildlife professionals who will guide you through the You Yangs national park. We will also introduce you to the koalas known from 20 years of koala research in the area. Locals: $30 adults, $20 children/student/concession (Children must be accompanied by an adult) Tourists: $120 * This small donation goes directly back to koalas and allows us to keep doing the amazing research and hands on work we do.  The nature experience we provide is educational and unique. For more information about the volunteer costs please read this blog The meeting place for the day is Little River Hotel (Pub) 10/14 Flinders St, Little River at 9:00am (except on tree planting days), we will then travel as a group to the location in the You Yangs. As this location differs every week, please meet us at the designated spot as we do not meet people within the You Yangs. Little River Hotel Google Maps Link   If you can't get to Little River we offer a city transport add on to your ticket for $5. The meeting place is The Holiday Inn on Flinders Lane. Pick up time is 8:10am. Please arrive before 8:10am. We may not be able to wait for you if you are running late. Please purchse both a normal ticket and the city transport add on. The Holiday Inn Google Maps Link Escape from the hustle and bustle of the city, enjoy the relaxation of nature, see wild koalas and help create new koala habitat. Note: In tree planting months there may not be enough time to visit the park and see koalas, but we do make it on most of our trips. * This is a subsidized event for locals, however, we welcome tourists to join and spend a day with locals. Please book the tourist ticket if you do not reside in Victoria. *    *    *  FAQs What are my transport/parking options getting to the event? Transport from the city is available, please book the city transport add on in addition to your ticket. The meeting place is the Holiday Inn on Flinders Lane at 8:10am. Please arrive before 8:10am as we do not have too much time to wait if you are running late. Google Maps Link Those driving themselves please meet at Little River Hotel (Pub) 10/14 Flinders St, Little River at 9:00am. Please plan to arrive 5 minutes early as we cannot wait for late arrivals.  Why are tourist tickets more expensive than locals? This is a subsidized event intended to educate locals (Victorian residents). Ticket prices do not cover costs, but are subsidized to encourage locals.  We welcome international and interstate visitors but ask that they pay the true cost of the experience, so that koalas get the maximum benefit from their visit.  Koala Clancy Foundation is a not for profit, fully registered charity. We do not get government grants to cover our costs.  What should I bring? Drinking water, a hat, packed lunch (a light morning tea will be provided), binoculars, camera, gardening gloves, sunscreen and insect repellant. Gumboots are highly recommended during on Tree Planting Days (June to August). Can I participate more than once? Yes! We always encourage volunteers to participate in as many conservation days as they can! If you've done the summer activity, why not come back in winter for some tree planting. If you are planning on coming multiple time consider becoming a member of the Koala Clancy Foundation. This entitles you to unlimited participation in the conservation days for the year and is great value! Membership prices: Adult $100, Family $200, Student $50. Click TICKETS to see this option or head to our KCF membership page.   How can I support from far away? These days can only run thanks to the generosity of people like you. Your donations are very much appreciated. For $600 you can sponsor the whole day. For $100 you can sponsor a volunteer to plant trees on your behalf. For $50 you can pay for 10 trees. Click TICKETS to donate or go to our website.
