Dia de los Muertos / Remembrance Day

It is with great pleasure that Kilburn Peace and Welcome Community Garden invites you to celebrate

'Dia de Muertos' - 'Remembrance Day' on Saturday 2nd November from 11am to 9pm at the Kilburn Peace and Welcome Community Garden on 43 LeHunte St, Kilburn SA 5084

All the family is welcomed!

Come to our garden and let's celebrate 'Dia de los Muertos / Rememberance Day'.

'Day of the Dead' is a Mexican tradition shared by most of the Latin American countries. This is the time when the living pay respect and honour to their beloved ones, who passed away.

Our Community Garden will be decorated as a symbolic graveyard. An 'Offering Altar' will be set up resembling the traditional visit, cleaning, decoration and offering meals that happen this day as a tradition in Mexico. Some of the meals will be prepared with vegetables and fruits grown by our members in the Community Garden. The decorations will be made by volunteers from flowers grown in the garden too!

Grab a bite from any of the many food trucks to complete this traditional Mexican and Latin American experience!

Food Trucks: Fritanga, Churros Adelaide, Mexican Community, Salvadorean Community, Argentinian Delights, Antojitos Latinos

Art and Craft by Spanish Speaking Catholic Community Youth.

Dances from: Chonkai Folklore Dance Group and Revolucion Mexicana Folklore Dance Group

Music by: DJ Raza and DJ Alex

Live Music by Trio Amigos and Mexican Community Ensemble.
