Canterbury Bankstown Council, in partnership with the White Ribbon Day Working Party, will host the 2018 Canterbury-Bankstown White Ribbon Tug O' War Cup.

Get a grip, pull your weight and oppose violence against women

White Ribbon Day is an international male led campaign where men take a stand and speak out to end all violence against women.

To show support for this event, we ask men from local businesses, schools, organisations, community groups and residents across Canterbury Bankstown to submit their team of five to compete in the Canterbury Bankstown White Ribbon Tug O ‘War Cup.

This event attracted more than 500 people last year who showed their unwavering support to ending violence against women by participation in a friendly Tug O' War competition.

Prior to the start of the event, participants, as well as spectators, are asked to take the White Ribbon oath to ‘stand up, speak out and act to prevent men’s violence against women’.

The event will take place on Thursday, 22 November, 2018, 11:30am-2:30pm at the John Mackay Indoor Sports Centre, Bankstown Memorial Oval, Chapel Rd South, Bankstown.

                     Registrations open @ 11:30am for a 12pm start!

The event will also comprise guest speaker and domestic violence advocate, Sarah Jane Bradford and students taking part in the BYDS RESPECT program with performances focusing on healthy relationships and saying no to violence.

A BBQ lunch will be available on the day with all gold coin donations going towards White Ribbon Australia. Team registrations are essential and free.

Registrations close Tuesday 13 November 2018 unless full capacity is reached prior.

Late Registrations will be considered.
