DANCE DIPG – DANCING FOR JOSIE.

A multicultural dance show to raise funds for DIPG research at the University of Newcastle and Hunter Medical research Institute (HMRI).

DIPG - Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma is an aggressive cancer that targets the base of the brain or brain-stem. It is largely seen in children and adolescents. The average survival is about 8 months post-diagnosis. Despite this, no significant progress has been made into treating this devastating disease. Even today, less than 1% of children diagnosed with DIPG will survive 5 years with less than 10% living for longer than 2 years post-diagnosis.

Dr. Matt’s Dun is a cancer researcher at the University of Newcastle and HMRI, and DIPG has affected him personally. In February this year, his 3 year daughter Josie was diagnosed with DIPG. Matt is in a unique position as a cancer researcher to make a difference to not only Josie, but countless children and their families who suffer from this incurable cancer. Read more about Matt’s and Josie in the links given below.

Help us help HMRI and Matt to make a difference.

By attending our Dance Show fundraiser you will contributing towards a future where DIPG and cancers of the brain will no longer tear families apart.

100% of ticket proceeds will go to HMRI for DIPG research. Donations are also welcome through our Eventbrite page. If you would like to directly donate to Matt’s GoFundMe, the link is given below.
