Party Protest meeting on the corner of Pacific Highway & Coff Street, Coffs Harbour (the grassy area at the end of the C.ex club block)
With coral reefs dying, heat records being smashed, the biggest storms and droughts in history, and island communities fighting for survival against rising seas, we are facing a climate emergency. Ending coal and carbon emissions is a matter of urgency. Meanwhile, fossil fuel corporations continue to dig up coal and spew CO2 into the atmosphere, supported by our Governments. Now is the time for each of us to step up for a safe climate.
The situation is serious, but that doesn't mean we can't have a good time while taking action!
Join us for this street party protest to show everyone driving down the Pacific Highway on 30 June that we are drawing the red line on coal. We'll do it with music, dancing, face paint, art, dress-ups, large banners, we'll be marching around major Pacific Highway intersections - Nobody will be able to miss the call for NO NEW COAL!
This is part of a National Day of Action called by FrontLine Action on Coal, with a series of diverse actions already rolling out across Australia, building towards a collective show of people power on June 30. These decentralised actions will be united by one story, one call and one symbol. Our story: in the face of the #ClimateEmergency we are taking our planet back. Our call: #NoNewCoal. Our symbol: the international marker of climate emergency, the #RedLine.
This end of financial year, let's draw the red line on coal. Let's connect with each other and build a movement that will win. We will not only #StopAdani, but also make sure there are no new coal projects anywhere in Australia.
