Homeward Bound Team Western Australia 2019
Seventy five women, representing 26 different countries were chosen to join the 2019 cohort of Homeward Bound leadership training program, which aims to strengthen the influence of women with a science background in order to direct policy and decision making. Five women based in Western Australia were selected: Dr. Lesley Sefcik (Curtin University) who has a background in global change impacts on forest ecosystems and works in a Learning and Teaching related role, Dr. Ines Melendez (Woodside) and Dr. Valentina Taranovic (CSIRO) who work in the earth/geological sciences, Dr. Dierdre Collins (Edith Cowan University) who is a microbiologist examining the growing problem of Clostridium difficile, and Yalimay Jiménez (Curtin University PhD student) who studies Geological Science.
