Join us for our first event of  2018. Get inspired to create a social impact.

We’re kicking off 2018 discussing  "How We All Can Create Social Impact?"

We will be collaborating with the brightest minds from not for profit, government, academia and corporate to discuss how you can use tools at your disposal to create positive change in the world.

We will be discussing :

-  Social impact, social innovation and social entreprenurship

- Role of government as an enabler

- How corporates can contribute to social impact?

- How individual can contribute to social impact?

- How do you transition from corporate to not for profit or public sector?

Speakers :

1. Sam Hannah-Rankin, Director Public Sector Innovation at Department of Premier and Cabinet (Vic)

Sam specialises in designing and implementing innovative business models in mature organisations.  She has held senior management, corporate development and strategy roles in organisations as varied as Australia Post, Bendigo Bank and Fairfax Digital, as well as working as a management consultant across both the public and private sectors.

2. Jane Farmer, Director of the Social Innovation Research Institute at Swinburne

Jane has a distinguished track record of research in rural health services, innovations in health workforce and technology, community participation, coproduction and social enterprise.  Addressing disadvantage and social and health inequity is central to her research activity.

Professor Farmer is currently leading an Australia Research Council Discovery Project examining the impact of social enterprise on regional city disadvantage.

3. Peter McNamara, General Manager at Good Shepherd Microfinance

Peter has over 10 years’ senior executive experience in the not for profit sector including as General Manager of Business and Organisational Development at Good Shepherd Microfinance, one of Australia’s leading NFP’s addressing financial inclusion and General Manager at the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre.

Peter is also on the Board of the Australia Council of Social Services (ACOSS), the peak body of the community services sector. He is also a Board member of Community 21, a profit-for-purpose enterprise, owned by 39 leading NFP.

4. Corinne Proske, general Manager Digital and Retail at Good Shepherd Microfinance

Corinne has 20 years experience in social responsibility and sustainability consulting. Prior to joining Good Shepherd, Corinne worked for NAB for 12 years in business banking and of social responsibility.  As part of her responsibilities, Corinne was responsible for NAB’s $130 million financial inclusion programs that focus on helping low income Australians access financial services.

Corrinne is the Chairperson  of The Difference Incubator  and is a Board Director at  Catholic Development Fund.
