Race For Grace - Has Ended

The Grace Centre for Newborn Care is organising the 5^th Annual Race for Grace, a 24 hour cycle challenge taking place at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead from 4pm on 21^st March until 4pm on 22^nd March 2018. The event was a huge success last year, raising over $65,000 for much needed lifesaving medical equipment used in the Grace Centre for Newborn Care.

Funds raised from the Race for Grace last year enabled the purchase of new hospital grade infant cribs which are used for the care of newborn babies recovering from major surgical procedures in the high dependency neonates to nurse them in a safe new environment which replaced the ageing cribs that were currently being used.

The event will attract a number of high profile sporting stars from the Soccer, AFL and NRL all cycling to support and raise funds for Newborn Care.

The Grace Centre for Newborn Care delivers complex medical and surgical care to extremely sick newborn babies from NSW, the ACT and Pacific Rim. These babies are born with conditions that need immediate stabilisation and treatment which often involves very complicated surgery on tiny bodies. Babies with conditions like complex congenital heart disease, remediable congenital malformations and medical conditions are flown to the unit within hours of birth to receive care not available anywhere else in the state. Your help with the Race for Grace will assist greatly in continually allowing the centre to provide the quality of care our babies require.
