Harriet David | Life Coach And Mentor Harriet David a Kaanju woman with family originally from Yam Island in the Torres Straits, is a children’s program instructor by day and fitness instructor by night. Single mother of two, Cairns local Harriet was a victim of DV which led to mental health issues and a long road of many other challenges, decided it was time to tackle change in her community as well as in her own family after graduating from the Indigenous Marathon Project squad in 2015. Since completing the New York Marathon with her squad, Harriet has grown from strength to strength and gone on to mentor, encourage and inspire many others through her running and her story. Michael (MJ) Bates | Professional Lifeguard Michael gave the gift of life to what could have been another drowning statistic by ‘restoringthe apparent dead!’.
