Overcoming Pnd: An Inner West Mums Information And Fundraising Evening - Has Ended
DO Details
Join the Inner West Mums as we break the silence on postnatal depression. On Wednesday 9 August at 7.30 pm at the Toxteth Hotel, 346 Glebe Point Road, Glebe Our discussion panel, comprising two experts in the field, general practitioner Dr Natalie Caristo of Abbotsford Medical Practice and psychologist Elizabeth Neal, will explore what PND is, what it can look like and what to do if you feel you’re not coping with the demands of parenthood. We’ll also talk to two Inner West Mums who have experienced – and overcome – postnatal depression. We are continuing our fundraising for Royal Prince Alfred Hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The Inner West Mums have committed to providing much-needed privacy screens for the unit. These screens offer families precious opportunities to bond privately with their babies while in the unit, which is open plan. If your bub spent time in NICU, then you would certainly appreciate how heart-rending that experience can be, and the value of these screens to families.
Last year, through several fundraisers, the Inner West Mums purchased two privacy screens. With the help of our successful Wonder Woman movie fundraising event in June, we’re now at our halfway goal to purchasing two more screens this year. Through this upcoming Overcoming PND information evening and fundraiser, we’ll be making strides towards achieving that goal by December 2017. So come and join our incredible community on 9 August, meet other Inner West Mums, learn more about the important topic of PND, and support our fundraising efforts. You can purchase your ticket here for $20, includes an arrival drink & light snacks. And you will also go into the draw to win one of the incredible health, wellness and beauty prizes donated by some of our amazing local businesses.
