Blue Pyrenees Magic Bike Ride - Has Ended

Whether you are an experinced rider looking for a challengng ride, someone new to the sport who is just learning the ropes or just a rider who enjoys the social side of events this ride has something for everyone!

The Blue Pyrenees Magic ride will start and finish at the fabulous "Blue Pyrenees Estate" vineyard located 7km North West of the township of Avoca.

The route will be the Audax “Pyrenees Magic” which circles around the undulating foothills of the Pyrenees Ranges.The event goes through the townships of Moonambel, Landsborough, Elmhurst, Amphitheatre and Avoca. The total distance is 114km with a vertical rise approx 1500metres.

For cyclists wishing a shorteror those just starting out the shorter ride to Moonambel (with a stop for coffee!) and back to Blue Pyrenees Estate it is a comfortable 46km on flat roads. The shorter ride will start 15 minutes after the main bunch have left at 9am.

For the longer ride their will be a food stop in Landsborough (50km) and another drink stop at Elmhurst (75km). A free Sausage sizzle and soft drink awaits at the Rotary BBQ at the end of the ride or those who have built up a larger appetite can try a more substantial offering or a glass of wine at “Cafe Blue” at Blue Pyrenees Estate

The aim is for everyone to ride within their ability and enjoy the day.In the event of not being able to complete the ride a "sag wagon" will transport you back to Avoca while we will also have a St John's ambulance officers and ambulances in attendance.The “Early bird” price of $50 for the 114km ride applies until 29/8/17 then the entry price is $60.

The “Early Bird” price for the 46km is $20 until 29/8/17 then the price is $30.

This is a Rotary Club of Maryborough charity event, Maryborough Rotary has a commitment to "making a difference" within our community, in Australia and indeed the world. The profit from this event will help to make a difference to a variety of community projects throughout our district.
