Paws4aCause Dog Show (Rotary Club of West Wollongong)

Paws4aCause is a dog show with a difference. Prizes will be given in five different categories – The Best Tail Wagger, The Best Fancy Dress, The Most Dignified Old Timer, The Best Hairdo and The Cutest Puppy. We will have around 30 market stalls selling all sorts of goods and services all dog related – dog groomers, dog trainers, dog treats, dog clothing, dog bakery, dog accessories and dog family portrait photos. We will even have a stand selling dog gelato. Wollongong City Council will be sending along their animal compliance officer to give advice on responsible dog ownership. The RSPCA, Guide Dogs NSW and Deaf Dog Rescue will all be there. We will have demonstrations on dog speed and agility, demonstrations from Flyball and Guide Dogs NSW.

It only costs $5 to register a dog for as many categories as the owner likes.

We will once again be running our very popular Dog Lotto which is sponsored by Tyres & More Figtree.

We will also be running a giant raffle as part of Paws4aCause. Many local businesses have generously donated goods and services. We hve 28 prizes valued at $4000.

We are raising money for Interplast which is an organisation started by Rotary in Australia in 1983. Interplast sends teams of plastic surgeons, nurses, anaesthetists and allied health professionals to countries in the Asia Pacific region to perform surgery on patients with such things as cleft lips/palates and burn scar contractures. These are surgeries that we take for granted here in Australia but in some of these countries their general surgeons are not trained in plastic surgery so are unable to perform these surgeries. Interplast also provides training to the medical personnel in these countries so that not only does Interplast perform life changing surgery today but leaves sustainable health systems for tomorrow.
