In alliance with NAIDOC Week and Young Engineers Australia, Engineers Without Borders Victoria presents an exclusive advance screening of Charlie's Country.

The film is one of Cannes Film Festival's critically acclaimed films of 2014 and one that is expected to draw unprecedented international attention to Indigenous actor, David Gulpilil. Awarded Best Actor, Un Certain Regard, at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival, David Gulpilil crowns his career with a mesmerising performance as Charlie.

Frustrated with the failures of the government intervention and the 'whitefella' laws enforced in his remote community, Charlie takes off to live the old way. But his extraordinary journey leads him full circle, and he returns to his community a wiser man. Through the heartbreaking, humorous and ultimately hopeful story of one man's search for belonging, Charlie's Country offers a deeply affecting portrait of contemporary Aboriginal Australia.A special guest speaker will provide an introductory talk.
