Greyhounds New Beginnings – Life After The Track will be having a Grey-Gantic Garage Sale Fundraiser and Hound Awareness Day on 28th March from 8.00am until 2pm at Centrepoint Church, corner of Hamilton Rd and Pfingst Rd, Chermside (just a few blocks from Chermside Shopping Centre).

What started out as a ‘gold coin garage sale’ fundraising idea a few months ago, has grown into a Grey-Gantic Garage Sale Fundraiser and Hound Awareness Day.

GNB will be fundraising through our garage sale of donated new and pre-loved items, a sausage sizzle, bake sale, Easter Basket raffle, face painting and art auction of works by local Brisbane artists including Jo Morris.

Face Painting for a gold coin donation from 10.00am until 12.00pm.
Art Auction at 12.30pm followed by the drawing of the Easter Basket raffle.

You will have the opportunity to meet some of our beautiful greyhounds, as GNB will be taking this opportunity to raise awareness of the true nature of this ancient breed that has been admired by many cultures throughout history.

Greyhounds New Beginnings – Life After The Track is a registered, not for profit charity established in Brisbane in late 2012. Our mission is simple - we rehome ex-racing greyhounds as much loved family pets.

The work of GNB is funded solely through the generous donations from the public and the fundraising efforts of many committed volunteers.

Greyhounds have a wonderful temperament, being gentle, affectionate, quiet, friendly and intelligent, which makes them the ideal companion dog for both adults and children. They also shed little, do not get that doggy smell and are not known as barkers. Although they are the fastest dogs, they are also described as the laziest. Greyhounds can happily spend most of their day asleep. They are truly 70Kmh coach potatoes!

You can find out more about the work being done by GNB at our FB page ‘Greyhounds New Beginnings –Life After The Track’ and check out just a small selection of the goods up for sale at ‘GNB Garage Sale Fundraiser’ FB page.
