Raising The Fashion Stakes For Craniofacial Australia
Thoroughbred racing identity Sharon Forrester-Jones once again invites the fashion field to the annual Craniofacial Australia Adelaide Cup Long Lunch that has become a race week tradition for many of Adelaide’s most fashionable.
This fundraising lunch is an event not to miss in race week; a day full of good fun, delicious food and the wonderful entertainment of a fashion parade staged by Sorbet fashions, along with spa pampers and fabulous raffle prizes.
Wear your favourite Autumn fashion and let there be many spectacular hats while helping to raise vital funds that will change the face of the future for young patients of the world renowned Australian Craniofacial Unit.
With this year's event the Craniofacial Australia charity foundation is hoping to raise $20,000 for ground-breaking local research into the heartbreaking condition craniosynostosis which causes the growth plates in a baby's skull to fuse prematurely. The condition leaves no room for the young brain to develop and causes a child’s face to grow severely distorted.
One in 2000 babies are born with craniosynostosis every year and these children need major and potentially life-threatening surgery at just six months old and, often, there are many more operations to come in their young lives.
Past research at the Australian Craniofacial Unit has vastly improved outcomes for hundreds of children needing surgical intervention for this condition and ongoing research will focus on the influence of isolated genes during a baby's gestation.
Tickets: $80 perperson
