Women for the World Luncheon - Sydney - Has Ended

Women for the World is an initiative of a group of Australian women with a passion for social justice, and a belief that together we can empower women across the world.

The inaugural Women for the World Luncheon took place on Thursday the 8th of May, with 220 women from around Sydney and regional NSW coming together in solidarity with the world’s most marginalised.

A powerful Q&A session between Channel 9's Ben Fordham and Caritas Australia’s Lulu Mitshabu was the centre point for what was an eye opening and mobilising day. Lulu spoke of her personal and traumatic experience of escaping the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) as a refugee and how her commitment to social justice has driven her to work tirelessly with Caritas Australia to fight for the rights of her country women and men.
