On Sunday March 8th, the One Woman Project is hosting our 2015 International Women's Day High Tea. Featuring keynote speeches from Senator Claire Moore, Anne-Marie Birkill and Professor Heather Douglas, the High Tea will be a fantastic way to celebrate International Women's Day and the women who are 'Making it Happen'. 

  Held at Berkley's on Ann, the High Tea will commence at 10am with pin-wheel sandwiches, roasted vegetarian frittata slice, petite brushetta, roast capsicum and ricotta tartlets, house-baked baby scones with strawberry jam and chantilly cream, seasonal fruit skewers, caramel slice with white chocolate drizzle, and coffee, tea and fruit punch. Gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options are available upon request. If you require any specific dietary requirements (including the aforementioned) please contact director@onewomanproject.org following payment of your ticket.    Tickets are available for $30 per person and spaces are limited, so get in quick!    Please note: This is not a fundraising event and all ticket profits go towards the provision of the event. If you wish to donate to the One Woman Project, a separate link is provided on the EventBrite ticket site.    LEARN ABOUT OUR KEYNOTE SPEAKERS:   Professor Heather Douglas: Heather Douglas researches in the areas of criminal justice and domestic violence. She is particularly interested in the relationship between Indigenous people and the criminal law and the way the criminal law impacts on and constructs women. Heather has published widely around legal responses to domestic violence. In 2014 she was awarded an Australian Research Council Future Fellowship to research the way in which women who have experienced domestic violence use the legal system to help them leave violence. She is currently working with colleagues on the Australian Feminist Judgments Project which is funded by the Australian Research Council. Heather has considered the criminal justice response to fetal alcohol spectrum disorders (FASD) and  to the drugkhat. From 2001-2007 she was a part-time commissioner with the Queensland Law Reform Commission and in 2004 she was a visiting scholar at the Centre for Socio-Legal Studies, Oxford University. 
Anne-Marie Birkill: Anne-Marie is a General Partner and Executive Director of OneVenutres, a $40 million venture capital fund supporting innovative companies with global relevance to Clean Tech and Life Sciences. She has created a strong career in the venture and technology industries, with previous roles including; CEO of i.lab Incubator, senior management roles at UniQuest, Director of energy storage company RedFlow Limited, and an Industry Fellow with the University of Queensland (UQ) Business School. She also mentors and works closely with young women in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) industries.    Senator Claire Moore: Senator Claire Moore represents Queensland at the Federal level and was elected as a Senator in 2001. She has had an active role in community groups throughout her life, including; the Community and Public Sector Union, Australians for Native Title Reconciliation, Friends of the ABC, and a member of the Australian Republican Movement. From 1996-2001, she was Vice-President, Chair of the Women's Committee and the Chair of the Arts Committee of the Queensland Council of Unions. Claire's interests are women's history, particularly in trade unions and the Australian Labor Party, Cricket, detective fiction, Paul Keating and art galleries. She is the current Shadow Minister for Women, Communities and Carers, and the Manager of Opposition Busniess in the Senate.

The One Woman Project is a youth-lead, registered non-for-profit organisation focused upon education about and advocacy promoting gender equality. Established in 2013, the Project is one of Queensland's fastest growing chartiable organisations and features three key components: an educational seminar series, public awareness campaigns and a bi-annual conference.
