About Yacaaba Centre
Why are we supporting?
Recently the Yacaaba Centre main funding source via the government was not renewed. Our local community is now raising funds and awareness to ensure the Centre does not shut down. We believe the Centre is an integral part of our community and we must do whatever we can to ensure it continues to provide its essential support services.
We aim to be a leading service provider of specialist homelessness services in the Port Stephens area, respected and renowned for partnering with other agencies to provide a "no wrong door" approach for people who are homeless, at imminent risk of homelessness, or who are suffering as a result of abuse within the home, either currently or in the past.
We aim to provide information and support to our clients to enable them to access safe and affordable housing, and to support them to develop strategies to sustain physical and psychological wellbeing.
We can help you when
- You are homeless
- Your are facing eviction
- Recently separated or divorced
- Subject to domestic or other violence
- Do not have a safe environment to live in
