Back To School Trivia Night Fundraiser - Hobart - Has Ended
DO Details
The UTAS Community Friends and Networks Programme (CFNP) and the Tasmania University Union (TUU) have teamed up to hold a fundraising event to support Aladurah Primary School in Sierra Leone on Tuesday, 14th October at Salamanca Gallery.
The Aladurah Primary School was founded by Isaiah Lahai in 2012, a student of the University of Tasmania. After moving to Tasmania, Isaiah wanted to give back to his home country and began saving money from his odd jobs in order to build a school for local children. The school has over 200 students. It has more students than it can accommodate at present. Given the recent Ebola outbreak, which has hit Sierra Leone the hardest, unfortunately the school is currently closed. For this reason CFNP & TUU hope to raise funds so that the children have something to go back to once the outbreak is contained and their classes can resume.
The highlights of the Trivia Night include performances, a student artworks auction, delicious multicultural cuisine and drinks, and raffle draws. We would like to invite you to attend the event and join us in helping to raise funds for the Aladurah Primary School.
