WHAT IS BARC?

BARC relieves the suffering, starvation, abuse and neglect of the Bali street dogs with care, community awareness and education. We RESCUE, REHABILITATE & REHOME dogs and cats as well as provide a lifelong safe and loving home for the unadoptables and other animals unsuitable for rehoming or release. We currently have 350 animals in our care including dogs, cats, monkeys, horses and pigs. We work with local communities to provide free sterilisations, vaccination and medical assistance, as well as providing food for street dogs and poorer families.

We are a rehabilitation facility for injured and abused dogs. We provide a place for street dogs to be cared for, nurtured and brought back to good health with the hope of adopting them out to local families and permanent residents of Bali.

BARC had humble beginnings. Originally located in the Linda’s (Founder of BARC) home in central Ubud, her house quickly became over run with animals so she found and secured an abandoned gallery on the outskirts of town. Utilizing the bricks and mortar she added to the structure to include various pens for infectious, recovering, healing and the happy dogs. BARC also has a kitchen and small office space.

At the end of 2012 the lease on this property expired. In August 2012 BARC secured a property to create a purpose built dog sanctuary. The sanctuary will be home to the unadoptable dogs with health or mental conditions. They will live out their retirement there along with dogs awaiting adoption.

We are desperately trying to get donations from far and wide to ensure this dream becomes a reality for our beloved dogs.

BARC 4 Bali Dogs is a fundraising cocktail event to raise money to support the work of the passionate people at BARC who have been improving the lives of Bali's street dogs and other animals for well over 10 years now.

Many auctions, prizes and raffles to be won!

Special guests on the evening include Lehmo, Executive Director of Animals Australia, Glenys Oogjes and our animal loving friend and UK actor/comedian, Bill Bailey.the sufferiness and education.
