Support the fight against Alzheimer’s disease while enjoying an evening featuring world class musicians & opera singers. Brought to you by Hand Heart Pocket - The Charity of Freemasons Queensland, QBI and Alzheimer’s Australia (Qld).
The spectacular Gala programme will be presented at the iconic Customs House on September 5, opening with the Theme and Variations from the well-known “Trout Quintet” played by ‘Cerebrum’ a string quartet consisting of the Conservatorium and The University of Queensland’s finest string players.
The Operatic Repertoire will include Madame Butterfly's dramatic and captivating “Un Bel Di” to be sung by the winner of the Covent Garden and Metropolitan Opera Scholarships, Zara Barrett, who is performing the principal role of Turandot for Australian Opera 2015.
Guests will also be treated to Queen of the Night's stratospheric arias from Singapore Lyric Opera soprano Cherylene Liew, and experience the depths of the vocal range with Sarastro played by basso profundo David Hibbard.
