The Welcome Group Inc is hosting our first ever Fundraising Ball.
It marks our official 12 months of being a compassionate volutneer group dedicated to supporting refugees across Melbourne and humanising the refugee debate.
We run our 5 programs through amazing volunteer efforts and donations helping refugees referred to us from Red Cross, AMES and New Hope:
Bridging the Gaps: a material aid donation exchange supplying homes with kitchenware, linen, clothing, white goods and toys
Created in Welcome: activating the arts to humanise the refugee debate
Green Thumbs: creating kitchen gardens for refugees and gaining Community Garden access for refugees
School of Welcome: providing resources and programs for schools in order to teach children the truth about seeking asylum
Share the Music: musical exchange for refugees and empowering Melbourne musicians to humanise the refugee debate
The night will be hosted by Russell Fletcher, comedian extraordinaire and Debra Byrnes, one of Melbourne's favourite performers. We will have a star performance by Melbourne musician Scott Wilson of his song "Get Out While You Can" and a performance by Debra.
Book a whole table of 10 - 13 people, or just come along and meet some new people.
There will be a two course sit down meal with drinks at bar prices, plenty of dancing and great people and great door prizes.
Dress code: Semi formal or be brave and explore your or a new culture and come in traditional cultural clothing.
