Inspiring Sandgate

This is an event designed to hear success stories from 5 Inspiring Sandgate Locals who have overcome a range of challenges in life and business.  If you are looking for inspiration and to spend an evening with other inspiring locals, this event is perfect.

This event is supported by Tamara and Mark Wecker of RE/MAX, The Full Moon Hotel and held in conjunction with Inspiring Australia - a not for profit organisation that connects community leaders and inspires local communities.

The purpose of this event is fourfold:

- Allowing successful Sandgate People to "give back" to the community by sharing their experience (successes and set backs).

- Providing a platform to Sandgate locals to catch up and talk business and make some new connections.

- Inspiring a new generation of leaders taking on big things in the business both in the Sandgate and beyond.

- Raising money for local charity.

The format of the night will feature stories of inspiration and success from some talented, experienced and passionate Sandgate people.  There is a lot of time to catch up and make some new contacts on the night.

 HOPE AND CARE FOR LITTLE SOULS...

Seven years ago, two men from completely different backgrounds embarked on a development project called HOPE & CARE for LITTLE SOULS in direct response to the devastation wrought by the wars and ongoing unrest in the eastern region of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

One was a displaced refugee of the Congo Wars called Dino Kile Mozart, the other an Australian engineer called Steve Schoemaker, and together they are bringing hope to the young victims of wars that took between 6-8 MILLION lives.

95% of all donations and sponsorship is used in Africa in AHI partner projects, with only 5% used for administration and financial charges in Australia.

Started in 2006, at that time HCLS cared for just 6 parentless children through the compassion and love of Dino Kile Mozart and his wife, Sephorah. Over the last 7 years, HOPE & CARE for LITTLE SOULS has grown into a program providing foster care, high quality education, healthcare, feeding programs, and community development initiatives, with more than 450 children now being cared for across nursery, primary and secondary school levels.

HOPE & CARE for LITTLE SOULS is being developed and operated in partnership with Australia HOPE International (AHI), an ACFID accredited Australian organisation that seeks to provide a brighter future to Africa’s abandoned and needy children through the development of schools, vocational training, small business opportunities, emergency relief, women’s associations, street kid’s projects, clinics and medical centers.

 AHI projects rely entirely on the generosity of individuals and organisations both corporate and church-based. It is run entirely by volunteers in partnership with wonderfully dedicated African partners in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda.

About the Speakers...

Steve Schoemaker- Founder of HOPE & CARE FOR LITTLE SOULS

 

Steve is one of the founders of HOPE & CARE FOR LITTLE SOULS. Born in Australia but raised in congo until he was 17 years old, Steve now works a day job with Santos Ltd but wears a second hat as the Oz Coordinator for HCLS. Steve travels back to Congo as often as he can to support the smazing staff and students at HCLS. 

 

MARSHALL CUSWORTH- The Coach

 

Marshall initially offered his experience and commitment to Steve and Jon as coach and mentor as they started the heavy training program needed for the venture, but soon found himself unable to resist the desire to extend his involvement and come along for the ride to help raise awareness and funds for HOPE & CARE for LITTLE SOULS.

The Intention of Inspiring Leaders is to connect inspiring people in country towns across Australia with the opportunity to share their stories with people looking for inspiration.
