Project Didi Australia proudly presents a special screening of the acclaimed Girl Rising, directed by Academy award-nominated Richard E. Robbins. Girl Rising uses the power of storytelling to show that educating girls can transform societies.
Funds raised will support women and girls in Nepal in vulnerable situations caused by gender inequality, poverty and lack of opportunity. Project Didi Australia provides training, skills development and educational opportunities through sponsorship, networking opportunities and workshops in photography, hairdressing and jewellery making.
Girl Rising journeys around the globe to witness the strength of the human spirit and the power of education to change the world. Viewers get to know nine unforgettable girls living in the developing world: ordinary girls who confront tremendous challenges and overcome nearly impossible odds to pursue their dreams. Prize-winning authors put the girls' remarkable stories into words, and renowned actors give them a voice.
