Pacific Climate Warriors Benefit - Clayton VIC - Has Ended
DO Details
This year, a team of “Pacific Climate Warriors” carrying traditional style canoes will travel from islands all over the Pacific to Sydney. While in Australia, the Warriors will draw attention to the links between Australian fossil fuel exports and climate change, calling on our leaders to stand up for the Pacific by taking bold action on climate.
The Pacific Climate Warrior Benefit will raise funds for this important project.
The benefit will feature performers hailing from places all over the Pacific, including dance, movement and voice performance group ANIVA, Samoan slap dance troupe, Tama Tatau, Polynesian dance group Nuholani, Fijian guitarist and singer Liam Rae, Island Breeze's Fijian Meke group and more to be announced soon. In between performances, you will learn all about the fight to stop climate change in the Pacific through short videos and storytelling.
Food and drink will be available on the night from a Kaindia Fijian Restaurant food stall. There will also be a raffle with some amazing prizes.
This is a family-friendly, alcohol free event.
When: 7-10PM, Friday 22nd August
