The Kids Cancer Project Christmas for a Cure - Has Ended
DO Details
A festive luncheon that not only marks the end of another year for The Kids’ cancer Project and our stakeholders but also celebrates the wonderful achievements from the TKCP Community!
Bringing together an ensemble of Researchers & Funding Recipients, Family Ambassadors, Corporate Partners, Community Champions and a live panel of Sporting Heroes, Christmas for a Cure is the pinnacle annual event for The Kids’ Cancer Project.
Starting with balcony drinks and networking, guests will enjoy entertainment, Christmas festivities, a premium 3-course lunch and beverage package, the day culminates with an afterparty to be hosted at iconic royal Randwick venue The Stables, overlooking the Sydney skyline as the sun sets.
The 2022 event and attached online auction saw a staggering $280,000 raised by our generous donors and partners, and we re hoping to reach even greater heights this year with an ambitious target of $310,000 in funds to support Professor Matt Dun and his project focussed on improving treatment and survival for children with some of the most high-risk brain cancers. Matt's daughter Josie was diagnosed with deadly brain stem cancer, Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG) at 2 years of age. Josie died 22 months later. This experience saw Dr Dun shift focus from blood cancer to brain cancers where he continues his research efforts to increase understanding regarding the pathophysiology of the disease and improve survivability.
