The Leniata Legacy has organized a High Tea Fashion Fundraiser to be held on Saturday, 9 August 2014.

The Leniata Legacy is a Queensland organisation that advocates against gender-based violence that affects 2 in 3 women in Papua New Guinea.

This event is to raise the profile of the Leniata Legacy and its work and to introduce our valuable community to what the Leniata Legacy is doing and what it is planning to do. It is imperative that we the Leniata Legacy maintain transparency and are accessible and receptive to our community.

This unique event will have a fashion runway showcasing specifically, PNG and Pacific fashion designers, models, photographers, make-up artists and fashion artists for the first time in Australia. The objective of the fashion runway is to promote local and international Papua New Guineans and Pacific Islander by giving them a platform at this event. We hope to use our event to empower others and give opportunities that will create sustainable economic solutions for the women of Papua New Guinea and the Pacific. Women’s fashion celebrates womanhood and cleverly promotes confidence, strength and beauty to which all women are entitled.

The High Tea Fashion Fundraiser is an intimate social occasion that includes notable keynote speakers such as Ellen Whippy-Knight, Managing Director for Fiji Fashion Week and Ann Mooney, former Miss PNG runner up and former PNG Olympian.

Tickers are available online and all funds raised at the High Tea Fashion Fundraiser will facilitate The Leniata Legacy’s Empowerment Program held at a small community school in Port Moresby as well as other programs.
