People from all over the world are getting ready for the 3rd annual Yogathon. This 108 Sun Salutation Challenge ( Suryanamaskar) will be held on August 16th at various locations.
Since its inception in 2012 in Canada, this event acts as a fundraiser for Care for Children, a program that provides education and educational infrastructure for children in India and South Africa. The Care for Children program was founded in 1981 during the construction of the Art of Living International Centre in Udayapura village, Bangalore, India by his Holiness Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’s vision of education for all. Today this program has grown to include 210 schools serving over 30,000 children.
The Adelaide chapter of the Art of Living invites participants to the 2014 Yogathon which will be held on the 16th of August at the Plympton Community Centre at 34 Long Street, Plympton.
Registrations start at 9 am and Sun Salutations will be performed between 9.30 and 11.30 am. We aim for participants to achieve a total of 108 salutations within this two hour period and trained teachers will assist, guide and motivate you through this incredibly inspiring challenge and ofcourse you do not have to complete 108 Sun Salutaions. Come have fun and push yourself to do as much as you can :)
Yogathon is open to beginners and experienced practitioners –anyone who accepts the challenge and wants to support a good cause!
Participant slots have been capped at 50 in order for the teachers to be able to give individual attention and guidance, so do be in early to reserve your spot.
We hope that you will be able to join us for what promises to be an amazing morning of yoga.
It costs only $25 to participate. Why wait? Join us as we rise, shine and salute the sun on August 16!
