Discrimination and poverty are two of the greatest challenges facing women throughout the developing world.

Project MonMa (which means “independent woman” in the Acholi language from Northern Uganda) aspires to help women and girls to overcome poverty and discrimination by creating small collectives of women to work together to make local handicrafts. The funds generated through the sales of these handicrafts are used to help us continue supporting the women’s groups and to fund a girl’s scholarship program to help get girls go to university. Our aim is to economically empower women so they can be more active in making choices in their lives, to help girls go to school and to generate awareness about the specific issues facing women in these areas.

Help us help raise funds to support this great cause. All funds raised will go to helping these women in their businesses and to helping create a scholarship program for young women to university.

Any donations will be greatly accepted, donations are online at projectmonma.org
