Charity Gala...like no other.
Join us on August 28th in the Presidents Social Club and support Geelong's Community Hospice.
Anam Cara House Geelong (Anam Cara) exists to provide support services for people from Geelong and the wider region who have been diagnosed with a life-limiting illness. This support is also extended to their families and carers.
Care occurs in a unique home-like environment that provides best practice clinical care plus support from trained palliative care volunteers. Anam Cara operates 24-hours, is accredited and non-denominational.
Anam Cara provides a specialised community hospice facility. The focus of hospice care is on quality of life, symptom management and comfort. It caters for social, spiritual, emotional, physical and cultural needs and is a preferred method of care for those who don’t wish to spend an extended period of time cared for in a hospital environment.
THE NEW ANAM CARA
Leading the Way in Palliative & End of Life Care
Anam Cara is building a new 20 bed facility on site at the Deakin University Waurn Pond Campus.
This project will spearhead new thinking in the delivery of community palliative care services, providing a world’s best practice, replicable, model.
The Facility - Architecturally designed for purpose, built to hospital grade within a home-like setting. There is no facility like this in Australia.
Our Unique Culture of Care - Improving quality of care through the expansion and flexibility of community care options.
The Palliative Care Community Hub Initiative – Using co-designed research and a collaborative approach to deliver coordinated care to people at all stages of their illness and to help people remain in their own home for as long as possible.
Community Funding Model - A Community Project to ensure access for all. Ongoing operations will be funded by a mix of community, government, health fund and philanthropic contributions and supported further by a community Volunteer program.
Join us on August 28th to learn more about our new facility and hear from those involved.
