DO Details

The Pinnacle Foundation is a national organisation that awards scholarships to young LGBTQIA+ individuals between the ages of 18-26 who wish to study full-time at a public higher education institution in Australia.

The organisation relies solely on many generous scholarship donors to support young LGBTQIA+ individuals, in order to allow them to realise their full potential and overcome challenges arising from their identity.

You are invited to come along and join us for an afternoon panel on how the Pinnacle Foundation can continue to provide a lasting legacy that positively impacts the lives of future LGBTQIA+ young people, through a discussion of ‘planned giving’.

Sam Harvey, one of our important community supporters in Adelaide, will share his story of how he created the named Pinnacle scholarship, the Frank Ford AM and Sam Harvey Scholarship, in memorial of his life partner to support a student to pursue study in an Arts related degree in South Australia.

Bob Lempens (well-known community supporter and solicitor, from Camatta Lempens) will also attend to provide an overview on how testators can devise bequests and create scholarship trusts when drafting their will.

Finally, some of our existing South Australian Scholars will speak about the difference the support of the Pinnacle Foundation has made to their journey and the impact a planned gift could make on the lives of future LGBTQIA+ students wishing to undertake further education.
