The Ocean Lovers Festival, founded in Bondi in 2019, is an annual celebration of Ideas, Art+Music and Action. It is a place to ‘Sea Change’ in a multi-channel showcase of the latest innovations, science and state of the art technology for helping the oceans. Audiences are inspired and entertained with art, films, music, food, talks, stalls, workshops and more to celebrate the love of the oceans.
Staged at Sydney's iconic Bondi Beach, with a catch cry of “Science in your Swimmers”, the laid-back Australian festival style invites people to understand some serious stuff in a relaxed and accessible way with engaging science talks and events on stage and in venues.
Ocean Lovers Festival provides four days of entertainment, science talks, indigenous insights, ocean workshops, interactive installations and activities. Audiences can literally dive into the famous Bondi Icebergs pool installation by the Sydney Institute of Marine Science which showcases a Crayweed forest restoration project and the Volvo Living Seawall ocean conservation project.
A photographic exhibition by not-for-profit Festival partner Underwater Earth – ‘Out of Sight, Out of Mind’ takes you on a 360-degree dive beneath the surface with your mobile device to visit spectacular locations around the globe.
Ocean loving bands entertain on stage, ocean films inspire and eco entrepreneurs in the Fish Tank pitch fest amaze with solutions for ocean environment issues.
Ocean Lover’s mission is to bring hope, attention and actions for the oceans to the widest possible audience. #iseachange
