Planktober is a social movement by Touched by Olivia Foundation to create vibrant, diverse and inclusive communities. Simply put, communities where everybody counts!  With the impact of social isolation compounding existing societal challenges, we need our community more than ever.  Did you know:

● Many Australians are being left behind as more of us feel the impact of social isolation

● Disability affects 1 in 5 Australians

● Loneliness, anxiety and depression are on the rise affecting 3 in 5 Australians on a weekly basis

● Suicide rates are also rising and lives are on the brink

● Charities can’t keep up by themselves, they need to work together 

Touched by Olivia is inviting you to plank in the month of October.  Every minute counts and will help us reach our goal of one million minutes of collective planking.  Rally your friends and family and help Touched by Olivia raise much needed awareness and funds.  The funds raised will be applied by Touched by Olivia to bring like minded charities together for a shared purpose under the umbrella of a Charity Collective to engage with government and corporates to work aross the communities that need our support, focussing on placemaking and partnerships. It’s no secret that when people form strong meaningful social connections, health and well being flourish! Using Planktober as a conversation starter, Touched by Olivia will drive community connections where everyone can participate. Planktober gives everyone the chance to think about their CORE and what drives them to strive for a better life, for not only themselves, but for the people around them. 

By being part of this social movement, you will be showing others that they count. Building core strength comes from the inside out and your strength will inspire others. You can challenge yourself, challenge others and really make a positive impact on the people within your community. Imagine making a real difference in this world and getting a six pack at the same time! It’s fun and easy with real life benefits! And who knew there were so many different ways to plank - it’s something everyone can get involved in.
