The Noosa River Paddle Against Plastic is on again. Courtesy of amazing support from Boomerang Bags Noosa and Unitywater, we are hitting the waters around Weyba Creek Launching Ramp.
There are some spots that rubbish collects and we plan to hit the water in Paddle Craft to remove as much of this debris as we can in one morning. Local regular waterway cleaners and Ocean Crusaders Noosa Founders Mark & Maura Harvey will lead the charge and guide us to the hot spots. Bring your paddle craft of any type. Kayaks, canoes, SUP's, inflatable boats, whatever you have, come on down and help us out to clean the creek. If you don't have a craft, rent one of our fleet with the small cost going towards maintaining our fleet. This is a child friendly event and we encourage you to bring the family along to help them understand that keeping our waterways clean is essential for the wellbeing of marine life.
Due to Covid 19 regulations we are running two separate smaller sessions. The first one will run at 0900 for 90 minutes and then we have a 30 minute change over with the second group coming in at 1100 and everything will be all over by 1230.
Meet at the Weyba Creek Canoe Launching Ramp on Weyba Esplanade at 0900 or 1100 pending which time slot you have signed up for. A limited edition range of Boomerang Bags will be for sale on the day - all proceeds go towards Ocean Crusaders and our crusades.
