This met some physical needs of the animals, such as pouches, bat wraps and koala mittens. But now there is an even more urgent call from rescuers for food, medical equipment and supplies to rebuild native habitats. Time is of the essence as our wildlife can no longer wait to be fed or rescued with the increasing natural disasters facing our area. In response to this tremendous need, I am holding a family-friendly fundraising event to directly support the immediate delivery of food and medical supplies to wildlife careers. The funds will be shared between the Animal Rescue Collective and ‘The Gift Project’, who are supporting the purchase of a portable X-ray to aid staff at the Wild Haven Wildlife Shelter in St. Andrews, Melbourne. Both organizations are completely volunteer run and there are no barriers between the rescuers themselves and our transferral of funds, supplies and support. Nothing is spent on salaries, administration or daily operations.
