Queensland Eye Institute Foundation (QEIF) has launched ‘Last Seen’, an Art Exhibition to Save Sight. Uniquely pairing nine visually-impaired people with influential artists to depict the last things they saw before their sight started to deteriorate, the emotive artworks will initially be shown at the Brisbane-based Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA) on Wednesday, 13 November 2019 and auctioned to raise funds to help QEIF continue their research to save sight.
Like many things in life that are just expected, eyesight is one of those things we take for granted. But can you imagine how much you would value the last thing you saw if you started to lose your sight? Your last dearly held, visual memory? That is what Last Seen is capturing.
