How did this all come about? Where did the inspiration come from that led to this fundraiser being created in the first place?

In September 2019 Ange Milthorpe is committing to her long-term vision of making a series of heart-centred short films that aim to share some of the best of Yolngu and Anangu Indigenous Australian cultures with a Western audience; in the hopes that 'we' might realise that we have much to learn from Ancient Cultures and Knowledge.

At the same time she hopes to use this footage as a vehicle to access international philanthropy and fund some real change on the ground. Not as 'the Westerner w all the answers': this approach has failed so many times. Rather, to seek genuine consultation with Elders and fund the Community Development they most desire for their people.

The purpose of this fundraiser is to raise money in order to supply fresh food (fruit, vegetables, and nutritious meals made from store ingredients) for local Indigenous people in the Communities that we visit. Why ? Fresh food is so expensive for local Aboriginal people. Everything in the Community Store has to be imported from far away. Of course they supplement this with traditional foods (eg bush fruits, meat and fish) but populations are much larger than they would have been when people lived solely off the land, so they cannot survive without purchasing food from the Store.

Aboriginal people share everything with extended family so inevitably there are periods with little money and very little food. We (comparatively wealthy) white fella never run out of food but we don't have the budget to be consistently feeding everyone on the trip. We would love to be able to do so whenever there is need. Your donation would allow us to respond accordingly. The more funds the more freedom we can have to cook up food with young ones & nourish everybody. This will also feel so good for us (the crew) to be able to reciprocate their generosity because Ange’s Aboriginal families will be sharing their traditional food & culture with us!

Joining us on Sunday 18th is some talented people who have generously given their time and energy to help make this event happen and share their gifts. See below for personal bios.

Embarking on a journey of self healing led him to further studies and practice in energetic healing, Reiki, Massage/bodywork and shamanic study in Peru completing a 1 Month Dieta with plant medicines. As with all things in life he aims to continue to learning, growing and sharing. https://www.facebook.com/qihealingmedicine/

During the Qigong sessions we will learn ancient self healing and health preservation exercises practiced for over 4000 years, rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine. With a focus on 3 schools of Qigong.

• Sheng Zhen Meditation

• Dao Yin Health Qigong

• Calligraphy Health Qigong

Each with its own unique style, flavour, forms and health benefits. Sound and vibration has also been used throughout the ages to influence particles and energy around us and within us. With the ancient knowledge that everything is vibration, our thoughts, emotions, senses, breath, are all vibration which affect our internal world as well as what we perceive to be the external world. With the use of sound, vibration, awareness, and intention we can positively re-tune, re-calibrate our minds, breath, body and come into a more relaxed state allowing us to open our consciousness, have access to and be more aligned with our true heart centred self and give ourselves space where healing can occur. Both Qigong and Sound therapy share the same health benefits of Regulating the body (physical and energetic), breath, mind, emotions and spirit which may have positive health benefits like:

• Reducing stress, anxiety & worries.

• Cultivating a peaceful, relaxed happy state of wellbeing.

• Improve strength, flexibility, Range Of Motion, cognitive function

• Injury rehabilitation and prevention.

• Overall health and Wellbeing
