A special baton is currently travelling around the world and being relayed from country to country by women motorcyclists. The baton arrives in Australia (via Perth) and after travelling across the Nullabor will be handed over to the SA ladies at Port Augusta on Tuesday, 27 August 2019.
The baton will leave Port Augusta on the morning of Wednesday, 28 August 2019 and will travel via Adelaide where an event to welcome the riders will be held at the Torrens Parade Ground. After a short break for lunch and photo shoots at the Torrens Parade Ground, the baton will leave Adelaide with a police escort and head to Mildura where the baton will be handed over to the Victorian ladies to continue its journey around Australia and onto NZ.
The baton will be carried by women who have registered as "Guardians" for the relay who will be joined by a contingency of other riders and around 50 or more riders are expected.
