On Sunday 28 July, the annual Cystic Fibrosis ACT (CFACT) ‘Santa Speedo Shuffle’ will take place with participants running, walking or shuffling 9km around Lake Burley Griffin in red speedos to show support for people living with Cystic Fibrosis (CF).
There are close to 100 people in the ACT region with cystic fibrosis (CF). They rely on our support for vital medications and equipment. Each year, we need to raise $200,000 to provide the financial assistance needed as well as provide education programs and other services. There is currently no cure for CF. It is the most common genetic disease in Australia, effecting over 3,000 people and every year, 1 in 4 Australian babies is born with CF.
