Private movie screening of Gaslight for Domestic Violence Awareness Month - Has Ended

To support Domestic Violence Awareness Month, you are invited to a private screening of Gaslight at the Elizabeth Street Picture Theatre.

Gaslight is a 1944 mystery-thriller film about a woman whose husband slowly manipulates her into questioning her reality. The film was nominated for seven Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Actor, and Best Screenplay; winning two for Best Actress and Best Production Design.

This film has contributed to the oft-used phrase of ‘gaslighting’ to describe a form of psychological abuse intended to cause a person to doubt their memory, perception and sanity through deliberate manipulation.
