70 Shearers coming together to shear sheep non-stop on Sunday 10th March to raise awareness for Mental Health and Suicide Prevention in the farming industry. An event filled with music, old school blade shearing and fundraisers held in the historic Glencoe Woolshed, Glencoe, South Australia.
The shearers comprises of 35 female shearers, known as 'Ducks on the Pond', and 35 male shearers, known as 'Its great to be Alive' from across several generations and locations across the world - the youngest just 7 years old. Brought to you by the Blade Shearing Heritage Foundation Inc. a group of volunteers whose sole focus is promoting health wellness. With an arrangement of music from Willie Wilson, Redgum & the Lost Souls, plus lunch time auctions and more. The day is guaranteed to be filled with new experiences for some with others reminiscing about the old days.
