Gold Coast Youth Charity New Beginnings is pleased to host this exclusive film in collabaration with Lin Sutherland, showcasing her newest marine conservation documentary 'Beauty and the Reef'. Funds raised will be used to assist our charity's new marine conservation programs for disadvantaged children and young people. 

ABOUT THE FILM: BEAUTY AND THE REEF
A tragedy of the modern era created over millennia Devastated in mere decades - Now is the time to turn the tide.
This film takes us on a journey of the worlds largest ecosystem and the fight to save the Great Barrier Reef.

Doors open 6:30pm | Film 7:00pm | Q&A/Guest Speakers 7:45pm

New Beginnings celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. After the Film Screening, New Beginnings founder Ben Brauer will share some of the amazing sucess and ambitions of the local charitable organisation that targets at-risk and vulnerable young people. Several other guest speakers will also be present.

ABOUT LIN SUTHERLAND 
One of Australia’s leading natural documentary producers is launching a national tour of Beauty and the Reef: a call to action regarding the gravity of conditions in the Great Barrier Reef. A qualified dive instructor and self-taught film-maker, Lin fell in love with marine life as a young girl.

Beauty and the Reef was filmed over many years and after 10,000 dives. Lin states “All humans need to take ownership of the end result of our consumption in terms of ocean pollution and together we can help bring urgent reef awareness leading to better environmental practices,” she said.

Lin has designed and dedicated her life to highlighting the importance of saving the Great Barrier Reef and environments all around the world - a fight none of us can afford to lose.

Lin has completed 65 environmentally based TV shows – for commercial audiences networks like Channel 9, Discovery CBS USA, NZ, Russia, Asia, Europe and South America also showing her series.
