Canberra Pet Rescue is holding a special Christmas 'Cats On Mats' Yoga with Kittens event!

Cats on Mats is a one hour yoga session with our adorable kittens!

The class is suitable for beginners with no experience required and can cater for all fitness and mobility levels.

Please wear comfortable clothing, bring your ticket and ID, a yoga mat, and your best downward-facing cat pose!

Strictly limited spaces so BOOK MEOW!

All proceeds go directly to Canberra Pet Rescue and will help the kitty-yogi's you'll meet in class and our other furbaby-fosters!

We ask that those attending Cats on Mats respect our furry friends. Our intention is to create a safe, calm, zen-like atmosphere for both humans and cats, so we request that you please assist us with this.

**Please ensure you read through the FAQs below before attending class**

Unfortunately as our cats love being the center of attention we have a strict no-pets policy.

Tickets are not for sale at the door.

Please note that the venue has stairs at the entry that cannot be avoided, so unfortunately there is no disabled access.

By registering you confirm that you are physically and mentally able to participate in the class. You acknowledge and accept that participation carries a risk of injury and release Canberra Pet Rescue Incorporated and related Yoga Instructors, to the greatest extent allowable by law from all claims that you (or your dependants or legal personal representatives) may have or may have had but for this release, arising in any way from your participation in the class.

FAQs

What should I bring?

Ticket (printed or electronic) and ID, yoga mat, and your best downward-facing cat pose!

Will future sessions be held regularly?

Yes - due to the nature of what we do (rescue cats and kittens, often very sick ones on death-row) we cannot predict when we will have healthy, vaccinated and quarantined kittens of a similar age, who are also familiar with eachother (a large group colocated), available to participate in classes and have our wonderful volunteer yoga instructors available as well. This is why we have a short time to organise classes and release tickets.

Do I need a yoga mat?

Yes, please bring your own yoga mat. As we are an animal rescue group we have plenty of foster cats and kittens but not a stock of yoga mats. Mats are available from shops such as Kmart from $10.

Do I need to bring my ticket to the event?

Yes, please bring your ticket (printed or on your phone) to the event with your ID for entry.

Are children allowed at this event?

Yes*, as the kittens are quite young we require all children to be accompanied by a responsible adult and be over the age of 9. Children must be willing to listen to instructions from our volunteers and be gentle with the kittens as their welfare is our highest priority. At least one adult needs to be present for every two children (up to the age of 12).

*All children must have a ticket for the session as we have a strict person-to-kitten ratio that we must adhere to for the safety of our kittens, and spaces are limited.

Is there parking at the event?

Yes there is a carpark outside of the event with plenty of spaces for attendees.

Is Cats on Mats a "Shoe-Free" Zone?

Yes, we ask people to take their shoes off and place them in the designated place.

Can I carry the kittens around?

We ask that people refrain from carrying them around as we want them to feel comfortable and safe. Please allow them to come to you and you may find them wanting a cuddle or trying to copy your poses! We encourage people to pat and play with them as they come up to you.

Are the kittens and cats available for adoption?

Yes, we have lots of cats and kittens in our care and available for adoption soon, please stay tuned to our facebook page for adoptables as they become avalable.

What time should I arrive?

We ask that you arrive 10 minutes before the class start time. Early entry will not be permitted as the kittens are practising their stretches and getting used to their surroundings before their yoga buddies join them. For the safety of our kittens we cannot open the doors after the class starts so please ensure you are on time.

Are there toilets at the venue?

Yes, mens and ladies.

What's the refund policy?

As this is a charity event and we need confirmed numbers we are not in a position to offer a refund however you may give your ticket to another person to attend in your place. If you chose to do this please contact us at CanberraPetRescue@gmail.com to arrange this.

How can I contact the organiser with any questions?

Please email CanberraPetRescue@gmail.com or connect with us on Facebook.
