Hangar for Hunger - Has Ended

Based in Acacia Ridge, belong’s Food Co-Op has provided essential food to residents living on the edge on Brisbane’s Southside for almost a decade. The vast majority of people seeking support from the Food Co-Op are people in insecure or part-time work. They are proud people and whilst they are employed, the conditions of their employment mean there are times when they simply do not have enough funds coming in to make ends meet. Alarmingly, there has been a significant increase in demand for the service in recent times. Belong reports that local residents have been queuing outside as early as 7am to meet the 9am opening time, with supplies exhausted within the hour.

Hon Leeanne Enoch MP and Archerfield Airport Corporation are hosting a fundraiser to support belong’s Food Co-Op program. We will be joined on the night by special guest Deputy Premier Jackie Trad.
