As you may be aware, I am currently raising funds for The Hunger Project, whereby I have personally pledged to raise $10,000 in order to embark on a fully immersive journey that will take us to India in February 2019 (please note I fund my own trip/experience and none of your donation goes towards this). As it stands, I have currently raised just over $6,000 and need to raise the remaining $4,000 by early December.

Having said this, I have decided to host a charity twilight lawn bowls evening to help raise the remaining funds. 100% of the proceeds raised from the lawn bowls evening will go directly to the Hunger Project and will assist with empowering women to enact change within their own communities and assist in creating a brighter future without hunger or poverty.

Date: Saturday 10 November 2018
Time: 5pm – 8pm
Place: Hollywood Subiaco Bowls Club – 42 Smyth Rd, Nedlands
Cost: $99 + BF
What’s included: 2 hours bowling, substantial food and drinks tab (beer, wine, champagne and soft drinks)
RSVP (and payment): By Friday 26 October 2018

Please email through your receipt to Fallon.Atkinson@bdo.com.au to confirm your payment and attendance, and whether you wish to be grouped with any other individuals attending for the bowling as teams of 4 will be made prior to evening to ensure the event runs smoothly.  Please note that attendance is capped at 100 people.

A bit of background to The Hunger Project: The goal is to end world hunger by 2030. The Hunger Projects approach is different – they see people living in hunger as the solution, not the problem. They shift the mindsets of women and men so that they can transform into leaders for more sustainable futures. Through programs such as education, microfinance, agriculture and health, they empower people with the skills, knowledge and resources they need to break the poverty cycle themselves. Your support will directly help to empower women from some of the world’s poorest communities to be the solution to the poverty and hunger that they face daily. I would greatly appreciate your support and attendance at the event and sharing this event with your family and friends.
